BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU," which continues to hit impressive view counts on YouTube, has extended its record as the most-viewed K-pop group music video.

On June 4 at 7:22 a.m. KST, the music video for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" by Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo exceeded 1.6 billion views on YouTube. This is the first music video released by a K-pop group to reach this view count.

The only MV of a Korean artist to surpass it is PSY's "Gangnam Style," which currently has more than four billion YouTube views.
BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU" was dropped on June 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. KST. This means it took two years, 11 months, 19 days, and 13 hours for the music video to achieve this milestone.
This past Feb. 23 at approximately 6:38 p.m. KST, the "DDU-DU DDU-DU" MV surpassed 1.5 billion views on YouTube. This is the first music video by a K-pop group to do so. It took the MV more than three months to reach 100 million more views to score 1.6 billion views.

With this new milestone on YouTube, BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU" has extended its record as the most-viewed K-pop group music video.
In November 2019, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" became the first MV released by a K-pop group to hit one billion YouTube views. Because of this, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" by Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa has become the No. 1 most-viewed K-pop music video in 2019. Even after reaching this feat, the views of the music video attained new impressive view counts every 2-3 months.
It is worth noting that BLACKPINK's influence is growing stronger on YouTube. The quartet, in fact, has a total of 28 billion views on YouTube. Among their music videos are "DDU-DU DDU-DU (1.6 billion views), "Kill This Love" (1.3 billion views), "BOOMBAYAH" (1.1 billion views), and "As If It's Your Last" (one billion views).

Moreover, the number of subscribers to BLACKPINK's YouTube channel has steadily increased and it now has more than 61.7 million, making them the most-subscribed female artist in the world. It is quickly catching up with the number of subscribers of Justin Bieber.

BLACKPINK to Release "THE ALBUM" Japanese Version
In other news, BLACKPINK has announced that they will launch a Japanese version of their first full album, "THE ALBUM," which is due out on Aug. 3.
"THE ALBUM" Japanese version will contain eight tracks, including the Japanese renditions of "How You Like That," "Lovesick Girls," "Pretty Savage," and "You Never Know." It will also feature their English songs: "Ice Cream" with Selena Gomez, "Bet You Wanna" featuring Cardi B, "Crazy Over You," and "Love To Hate Me."
The Japanese version of BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" will be available in 12 physical versions and interested fans can purchase it via Universal Music Japan. Prices range from JPY 2,750 to JPY 10,780.
