Since her "Dancing with the Stars" win, Kellie Pickler returned to her roots by opening for the Mt. Airy Casino Resort summer concert series, but that doesn't mean she's left her dancing shoes behind.

Yesterday, the 26-year-old country singer tweeted to some 800,000 Twitter followers about husband Kyle Jacobs surprising her with a dance class for date night.

Apparently, once you become a dancing queen, it's hard to let go of old habits.

In the midst of it all, Pickler also found the time to stage her first concert since her "Dancing with the Stars" win at the Mt. Airy Casino Resort in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania.

The singer delighted thousands of fans with a 16-song, 80 minute concert, singles hits like "Tough," "Red High Heels," "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You," and "Best Days of Your Life."

"If nothing else, Kellie Pickler is real, from her openness about her troubled upbringing to her quirky Southern personality, meaning you pretty much know what to expect when you see her in concert," wrote The Morning Call's John J. Moser.

"People like what she does."

Her troubled upbringing received headlines again recently, after her father, Clyde Pickler Jr., became a fugitive for violating his probation terms.

His probation stems from a 2003 stabbing incident which put him behind bars until he was released in 2006, right after Kellie was eliminated from season five of "American Idol."

"I never thought he wasn't a good person," confided Pickler to XfinityTV during her "Dancing with the Stars" season 16 stint.

"He has struggled with his own demons and I think we all have demons. Everyone's demon is different. My dad's just happens to be alcohol and drugs. That's definitely affected him and everyone around him, but the thing I admire about him is that he stepped back and recognized those demons and faced them."

Pickler has yet to comment on the recent developments with her father.
