On Saturday, June 26, the Korean Brand Research Institute unveiled its brand reputation rankings for South Korean singers. With BTS, Lim Young Woong, and aespa dominating this month, check out the complete list of the most popular singers in the country below!
What are the Brand Reputation Rankings?
The brand reputation ranking is are an index created with the use of big data brand analysis. The index is used to analyze and determine the consumers' online habits and discover what affects brand consumption.
The brand reputation rankings also unearthed out the influence of a South Korean singer, the volume of media interest in the singer, the volume of interest the consumer has for the singer, and the communication volume of the singer.
From May 26 to June 26, The Korean Brand Research Institute analyzed 127,167,251 pieces of big data to determine a singer's participation index, media index, communication index, and community index.
Compared to the 106,100,722 pieces of big data in May 2021, the number decreased by 19.86%.
BTS is the Most Popular Singer in South Korea
Occupying the top spot is BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook), with a brand reputation index of 12,939,675.
BTS has a participation index of 3,407,384, a media index of 3,118,540, a community index of 3,013,241, and a communication index of 3,400,510.
Compared to their brand reputation index of 11,813,702 in May, their index rose by 16.27%.
Lim Young Woong is the Most Popular Male Soloist in South Korea
Trot singer Lim Young Woong snagged the second place with a brand reputation index of 11,626,270.
Lim Young Woong has a participation index of 3,852,479, a media index of 2,562,656, a community index of 2,610,554, and a communication index of 2,600,580.
Compared to his brand reputation index of 9,891,388 in May, his index rose by 30.82%.
aespa is the Most Popular Girl Group in South Korea
aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning) took home third place with a brand reputation index of 7,876,755. aespa has a participation index of 2,102,036, a media index of 1,684,005, a community index of 2,086,942, and a communication index of 2,002,772.
This is the first time aespa has ranked at the brand reputation rankings for South Korean singers.
Brave Girls is the Second Most Popular Girl Group in South Korea
Brave Girls (Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna) takes fourth place with a brand reputation index of 6,279,516.
Brave Girls has a participation index of 1,226,336, a media index of 1,011,717, a community index of 2,008,076, and a communication index of 2,033,386.
Compared to their brand reputation index of 5,962,784 in May, their index rose by 5.31%.
Lee Chan Won is the Second Most Popular Male Soloist in South Korea
Fifth place goes to trot singer Lee Chan Won with a brand reputation index of 6,210,965.
Lee Chan Won has a participation index of 1,965,336, a media index of 1,470,626, a community index of 1,595,489, and a communication index of 1,179,514.
Compared to his brand reputation index of 4,589,378 in May, his index rose by 35.33%.
