Surprising UNIVERSE and FIX members around the world, the next entry for UNIVERSE Music will be a collaboration between the C9 Entertainment quintet CIX and PENTAGON vocalist Hui.
Titled "TESSERACT" (Prod. Hui, Minit), the track will see CIX members BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk work with the Pentagon member and singer-songwriter as well as with Minit, the South Korean record producer, and DJ. The new UNIVERSE Music release is set for July 1st, 6 PM KST. Together with the announcement, NCSoft and Klap released the cover image and the full schedule on the UNIVERSE app, and its official social networking sites (SNS).
In the full schedule released, the concept film "The End of Infinity" was released on June 27 (Sunday), followed by two M/V teasers for "TESSERACT": the "Object Version" and the "Chaos Version." The activities all lead to the official release of the UNIVERSE Music single "TESSERACT" (Prod. Hui, Minit) across various music sites as well as the official music video.
Starting the hype among fans, the first concept photo released shows the five CIX members staring intently at the camera. They appear dressed in a variety of formal and laboratory outfits with a variety of scientific instruments in the middle of the image. CIX appears to deliver their own take on the sci-fi theme that the UNIVERSE app has been offering over the previous months. Particularly, it remains to be seen whether the concept of the new song ties in with their UNIVERSE Original series: "Scientist CIX: Hello, Hello, Psycho."
Additionally, this marks the first project for composer and producers PENTAGON Hui and Minit, offering both artists a chance to show off their synergy as they work with CIX. Particularly, Hui has established himself as a capable vocalist and songwriter during his time with PENTAGON, composing some of the group's tracks over the years. Aside from songs for his former group, he also participated in the writing and production of tracks for other K-pop artists such as Wanna One's "Energetic," JO1's "Oh-Eh-Oh," Produce X 101's "Boyness," and more.
