BTS "Butter" has become the first Korean entry in history on Spotify's "Songs of the Summer" playlist!

To kick off July, Spotify dropped the latest "Songs of the Summer" playlist that listeners can enjoy during the summer period. One of the releases on the list is BTS "Butter."

On June 30, Spotify unveiled the Top 10 tracks that entered the "Songs of the Summer" playlist for May 29 to June 28.

From 2015 to the present time, Spotify would release a "Songs of the Summer" playlist every year. It includes tracks that are predicted to become a hit across the globe within the summer period. This is one of the seasonal lists issued by the global music editorial team.

This team analyzes streaming status, music trends, and other data to arrange the songs on the playlist.

Sitting at No. 6 on Spotify's "Songs of the Summer" playlist is BTS's new English-language single "Butter."

It is the first-ever song by a Korean artist to make it to the said list since 2015.

A Spotify official said, "It is noteworthy that the status and musicality of BTS has risen to the level of world-class artists such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Justin Bieber."

BTS Butter Becomes Fastest K-pop Song to Reach 300 Million Streams on Spotify

Meanwhile, BTS Butter has obtained another feat on Spotify.

On June 29, "Butter" has exceeded 300 million streams on the platform. It is the group's seventh song to hit this milestone, following "Dynamite," "Boy With Luv," "FAKE LOVE," "DNA," "Blood Sweat & Tears," and "Life Goes On."

With this, BTS has extended their record as the K-pop artist with the most songs having 300 million streams on Spotify.

The boy group now has a total of seven songs, while BLACKPINK has five tracks ("Kill This Love," "Kiss and Make Up," "How You Like That," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," and "Ice Cream").

On top of this, BTS "Butter" is now the fastest K-pop song to attain 300 million streams on Spotify, surpassing their own "Dynamite." "Butter" achieved the feat in only 39 days, while "Dynamite" took 58 days to reach it.

Previously, BTS "Butter" was announced as the fastest K-pop song to hit 100 million streams on Spotify. It only took eight days to attain the mark, surpassing the record of 15 days set by "Dynamite"

"Butter" is also the fastest to reach 200 million streams. The track just 20 days to obtain the milestone, beating the record of 36 days set by "Dynamite."

"Butter" is also the first 2021 song to surpass 200 million streams on Spotify.

BTS's new single even scored the biggest 2021 song debut on Spotify. It impressively gained 20.88 million streams on the first day.

Furthermore, BTS "Butter" obtained the biggest first-week streams on Spotify this 2021, recording 99.37 million streams since it was released on May 21.
