BTS's "DNA" Music Video Surpasses 1.3 Billion Views on YouTube - The Third Fastest K-pop Group Music Video to Do So
On July 2 at approximately 11.55 p.m. KST, BTS's "DNA" music video exceeded 1.3 billion views on YouTube.
"DNA" was released on Sept. 18, 2017, at 6 p.m. KST. This means the MV achieved the milestone in three years, nine months, 14 days, and 55 minutes.
Moreover, it only took about five months for the YouTube views to increase by 100 million, from 1.2 billion to 1.3 billion.

BTS's "DNA" is the first music video released by a K-pop boy group to reach 1.3 billion views. It is also the third MV from a Korean male act to hit the mark, following PSY's "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman."
Other than this, BTS's "DNA" is the third-fastest K-pop group MV to obtain this milestone.
While "DNA" hit 1.3 billion views after 1,382 days, BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU" reached the mark in 813 days, the second shortest time.
The shortest record of all time was set by BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love," which only took 778 days to achieve the feat.

As of July 2, BTS has a total of 33 billion views on YouTube across all of their music videos.
The other MVs of the boy group with more than one billion YouTube views are "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey with 1.2 billion views and "Dynamite" with 1.1 billion views.
BTS's music video that is close to reaching one billion views is "Fake Love." As of July 3, it has 958.22 million views.

"DNA" is the title track of BTS's 2017 album "Love Yourself" Her." It is an EDM pop genre song that talks about young and bold love. The track captivates listeners with its catchy whistle tune and acoustic guitar sound.
In eight hours after the music video for BTS's "DNA" was released, it gained 10 million views, becoming the fastest K-pop group MV to reach the mark at that time.
This past February, BTS's "DNA" music video has become the first K-pop boy group MV to hit 1.2 billion views. The feat was attained after three years, four months, and 23 days.
Apart from the achievement on YouTube, BTS has also become the fourth Korean singer to enter the Billboard Hot 100, following PSY, Wonder Girls, and CL.
At that time, BTS's "DNA" debuted at No. 85 on Billboard Hot 100 and charted for four weeks in a row.
