Korean Credit Card Issuer Shinhan Card to Launch Exclusive "BTS Card"

On July 5, KST, Korean media outlet, The Korea Herald, reported that Shinhan Card will be launching an exclusive "BTS Card."

According to Shinhan Card, a Korean credit card issuer, they are currently planning on launching a private label credit card that features BTS and other K-Pop celebrities later in the year - which is exclusive for K-Pop fans.

The launch of the "BTS Card" is in partnership with the global fan community platform, Weverse, and its company, Weverse Company. Shinhan Card said that they will be launching PLCCs (private label credit card) that will be offering benefits and rewards to its cardholders who buy albums or concert goods through the Weverse Shop, an online retailer for K-Pop merchandise that is operated by Weverse Company.

PLCC, or private label credit card, is a store-branded credit card that is intended to be used exclusively at a specific store.

Shinhan Card said in a statement on Monday, July 5 KST, that it is very meaningful to be able to develop credit cards that are designed exclusively for fans of K-Pop. And through their latest PLCC partnership contract with Weverse Company, Shinhan Card will be offering differentiated products and services in terms of the card's design and benefits.

Weverse launched back in 2018 and offers K-Pop fans paid subscription services, in which fans are able to communicate with their favorite artists on the platform, as well as connect with other fandoms and fans across 233 regions around the globe. Besides BTS, the Weverse mobile app boasts different K-Pop artists such as TXT, SEVENTEEN, Sunmi, Everglow, iKON, ENHYPEN, CL, and more.

In addition, several non-K-Pop artists are also on the platform, such as the British pop trio New Hope Club, Jeremy Zucker, MAX, PrettyMuch, and Alexander 23.

BTS Unveils Tracklist for Upcoming CD Version of "Butter"

Back on July 1, KST, BTS, and their label Big Hit Music unveiled the highly-anticipated tracklist for their upcoming single CD of "Butter."

According to the tracklist, the CD version will include four songs, including their recently released full-English digital single "Butter" that was released back on May 21, as well as a new song called "Permission to Dance," and the instrumental version of both songs.

"Permission to Dance" is a new song by BTS, with fans highly anticipating its release as it is a collaboration song between the K-Pop superstars and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The song was also produced by Jenna Andrews, Steve Mac, and Stephen Kirk; and written by Ed Sheeran, Jenna Andrews, Steve Mac, and Johnny McDaid.

The "Butter" CD version will be released this coming July 9 at 1 pm KST.
