American Butter Institute is Grateful to BTS for Raising "Butter" Awareness
Back on July 9, Billboard reported that the Chief of Communications for the American Butter Institute, Alan Bjerga, is quite happy with BTS' latest song, "Butter."
According to Billboard, Alan Bjerga became aware of "Butter" within a week or two of the song's release back on May 21 when he started seeing posts about "Butter," such as their teasers, on several social media platforms.
"My main reaction was, 'Great!' It obviously doesn't hurt to have your product associated with the top band's song of the summer," said Alan Bjerga.

Alan Bjerga also notes the song's timing with the sales of butter in the United States, stating that there is a growing popularity of the dairy product in the last decade, with the consumption of butter at its highest point right now since the 1960s, according to the most recent national statistics per capita.
"Like BTS says, 'it's smooth,'" said Alan Bjerga as he references the lyrics of "Butter." He also says how BTS exemplifies the best of boy bands, except BTS, is translated into a more global context that is incredibly exciting.
According to Alan Bjerga, the future of butter sales in the United States lies in exports. "And to have arguably the biggest band on the globe giving a thumbs-up in song can't be anything but good," Alan Bjerga adds.

BTS Continues to Dominate Billboard's Hot 100 in Their 7th Consecutive Week
Seven weeks for the seven BTS members!
On July 12 local time, Billboard announced the rankings of the Hot 100 chart - a weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States - for the week of July 17. And BTS has once again topped the chart with their latest song, "Butter"!
This marks the seventh week that "Butter" has been at No.1, extending BTS' and the song's record as the longest-running No.1 hit song by any Asian act in the history of Hot 100. In addition, "Butter" is also the longest-running No.1 song from its debut on the chart by any group besides Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" back in 1995.
Additionally, "Butter" is also the top-selling song of the week and had snagged No.1 on the Digital Song Sales chart for their seventh consecutive week. "Butter" also took No.21 and No.26 on the Radio Songs chart and Streaming Song chart, respectively.
For this week, "Butter" had accumulated 29.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, an increase of six percent from the previous week, and 10.8 million streams in the United States, and sold 108,800 copies for the week of July 8, according to MRC Data.

Not only that, but "Butter" had also taken No.10 on the Pop Airplay chart, making "Butter" their second Top 10 hit song on the Top 40 radio-based chart, with "Dynamite" previously placing at No.5 back in December 2020.
BTS is also the first all-Korean artist with multiple songs within the Top 10 on the Pop Airplay chart, with PSY being the only other South Korean artist to have peaked within the Top 10.
Meanwhile, BTS released "Permission to Dance" back on July 9 and is set to make its debut on the Hot 100 chart next week.
Congratulations to BTS!
