Oldest Bond Girl Ever Penelope Cruz: We Pick 10 Bond Girls For Cruz To Study For New Role [Pics & Video]

Penelope Cruz was just named the new Bond girl for the upcoming "James Bond 24" film. She'll be 40-years-old when shooting starts next summer, which will make her the oldest Bond girl in the history of the Bond franchise.

So we're picking 10 Bond girls throughout the history of the films to show Penelope Cruz the best that Bond girls have to offer.

10. Diana Rigg "Tracy Bond" - "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969)

The only wife James Bond ever had, Tracy Rigg is advertised as having "class AND style." She better because George Lazenby was no good in this role taking over for Sean Connery's iconic Bond.

9. Lois Chiles - Holly Goodhead "Moonraker" (1979)

How can you beat a name like Holly Goodhead? Chiles brought more respect to the part than the name implies though. And misogyny is about as much of a staple of James Bond as the gadgets.

8. Caroline Munro - Naomi "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977)

Part of the reason, as you'll see, Bond girls do well is they can be almost as conniving as Bond himself. Check out Caroline Munro wth the come-hither wink as she's trying to gun Bond down from a helicopter in this iconic Bond moment:

7. Denise Richards - Dr. Christmas Jones "The World Is Not Enough" (1999)

Denise Richards is gorgeous as we all know from Wild Things, but here she's a bit drab. But she is playing the only astrophysicist who is named Christmas unironically, and looks as stunning as Denise does. Now we all wish we had paid more attention in physics class.

6. Olga Kurylenko - Camille Montes "Quantum of Solace" (2008)

She's gorgeous and no typical Bond girl in Quantum of Solace, which was a mild disappointment after the amazing opening Daniel Craig turn in Casino Royale. But Olga is a head-turner regardless of the role she played; we're just glad she was a partner in the action for this one.

5. Famke Janssen - Xenia Onatopp "Goldeneye" (1998)

Onatopp is one of the best names in Bond lore, and Famke's bone-crushing thighs, which actually kill a Navy Admiral early in the film are about as awesome as her name. Bond does have to kill her, but before he does they have a knock-it-out fight at a spa that showcases Janssen's beauty and brawn.

4. Halle Berry - Jinx "Die Another Day" (2002)

Halle Berry sizzles in this second Bond with Pierce Brosnan as the titular star. She also reprises the starring scene that's further down our list with her opening shot coming out of the water as Bond looks on from binoculars. Berry is an academy award winning actress, but she can play a minx like Jinx here.

3. Honor Blackman - Pussy Galore "Goldfinger" (1964)

The name, the looks, the co-star, the bad-assery. This is Honor Blackman playing one of the most iconic Bond girls in the history of Bond girls. Penelope Cruz would do well to mimic every move Blackman makes as the foil to Connery's Bond in this third—and some consider, best—Bond film.

2. Ursula Andress - Honey Ryder "Dr. No" (1962)

That iconic scene of a buxom babe coming out of the water that Halle Berry mimics in Die Another Day? Yeah, that's Ursula Andress, perhaps the hottest Bond girl of all time and the Bond girl most Bond fans hold up as the penultimate in femme-dom. This is the Bond girl that originated the idea of "Bond girl."

1. Eva Green - Vesper Lynd "Casino Royale" (2006)

She is the real love of James Bond's life. The only one that tricked him with her feminine wiles and convinced him to give up MI6 to run away with her. The lovely and buxom Eva Green plays Vesper Lynd in perhaps the greatest Bond of them all: Casino Royale. Most fans of the Fleming books that spawned the movies point to Vesper's character as the one who turned Bond's blood ice cold so that he could never truly love a woman like her again. We don't blame Bond though Eva Green is gorgeous and cunning at the same time. Something every Bond girl needs.

Take note, Penelope, you can't do much better than these 10 ladies.
