Ahn Jin-ah explained that the growth in SM Entertainment's album sales in Q2 2021 is because of the increase in unit and solo activities such as NCT Dream, who sold 3.16 million copies, EXO, who sold 1.79 million copies, and more.
Compared to the results in the second quarter of 2020, EXO's company saw more than a 55.8% rise in their album sales this year.
SM Entertainment's music sales have also risen. In the past six months, the agency was able to gain 34.3 billion won. It increased by more than 78.5% compared to their sales in Q2 2020.
SM Entertainment's Album Sales and Annual Earnings Predicted to Further Increase in the Second Half of 2021
Park Ha-kyung of Korea Investment & Securities stated that the growth of K-pop artists this 2021 is showing a steep rise.
