STAYC Confirmed to Make a Comeback, Has Finished Filming the Music Video

STAYC has been confirmed to make another comeback this year.

On Aug. 4, JoyNews24 released an exclusive report stating that the rookie girl group is preparing for their comeback with a new album. A representative from HIGH-UP Entertainment has since issued an official statement through Newsen.

According to JoyNews24, STAYC is already in the final stages of preparations for their new album, which is set to be released in early September.

An official from STAYC's label HIGH-UP Entertainment then told Newsen that the rookie group is indeed getting ready for a comeback. They added that STAYC's music video for their upcoming song has already been filmed.

However, the official concluded that STAYC's comeback date is yet to be finalized.

This will be the second time that the new K-pop girl group will return to the K-pop scene this year. This past April, the sextet released their second single album "STAYDOM," which features the title song "ASAP."

STAYC's "ASAP" was produced by Black Eyed Pilseung and Jeon Gun, who are known to have created numerous K-pop songs that instantly became hits. These producers are also the ones who established HIGH-UP Entertainment.

"STAYDOM" marked the rookie group's first-ever comeback since their debut in November 2020 with their single "SO BAD."

STAYC's Achievements with Their Latest Album "STAYDOM"

STAYC's "STAYDOM" set the record for the first 2020-21 album by a female rookie to sell more than 50,000 copies on the Hanteo Chart.

The sales figure was achieved in almost three weeks since its release on April 8. A total of 51,441 copies were sold on Hanteo on the 20th day of sales.

In addition to this, "STAYDOM" also now holds the group's record for highest first-day sales and first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart. A total of 12,940 copies were sold on the first day and 35,518 copies on the first week.

Over on the Gaon Chart, STAYC's "ASAP" becomes their first song to cross 200 million digital index points. It accumulated 14.48 million more points on Gaon for Week 30 of 2021.

"ASAP" also claimed the No. 51 spot on the Gaon Download Chart and ranked eighteenth on the Gaon Streaming Chart in the same week.

Meanwhile, the album "STAYDOM" took the No. 83 spot on the Gaon Album Chart.

On the 2021 mid-year rankings of Gaon Album Chart, STAYC's "STAYDOM" secured the No. 76 spot with 72,836 copies.

Overall, STAYC has recorded more than 100,000 copies on Gaon, becoming the first 2020-21 female rookie to do so.

When it comes to streams on Spotify, "ASAP" has become the rookie group's first song to exceed 20 million streams on the platform.

In addition to this, STAYC's music video for ASAP reached 10 million views in about three days after its release.

As of writing, STAYC's "ASAP" MV has more than 33.8 million views on YouTube.
