SM Entertainment Reveals COVID-19 Test Results of Other EXO Members

SM Entertainment has unveiled the COVID-19 test results of other EXO members after Xiumin was confirmed to be diagnosed with the said virus.

On Aug. 5, SM Entertainment released an official statement announcing that EXO Xiumin tested positive for COVID-19. The other members of the group and the staff members were then tested for the virus.

On Aug. 6, the company released a follow-up statement, revealing the health status of other EXO members and staff.

SM Entertainment Announces COVID-19 Test Results of Other EXO Members

According to SM Entertainment, the other EXO members - D.O., Kai, and Sehun - and the staff have all received negative test results for COVID-19 as of today, Aug. 6.

Even though they tested negative, they will be in self-quarantine for two weeks in accordance with the guidelines of the health authorities.

SM Entertainment concluded that they would strictly follow the quarantine rules.

EXO Xiumin experienced symptoms of changes in his health on Aug. 4. Hence, he received an additional PCR test on that day. On the following day, he was confirmed to have COVID-19.

As a result, Xiumin quickly halted his scheduled activities and started his self-quarantine.

After his current health condition was disseminated, all of the staff members of several broadcast shows that EXO Xiumin is part of and some of his fellow cast members in the musical "Hadestown" have all been tested for COVID-19.

EXO Songs Get Played at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics + "Don't Fight the Feeling" Remains the Best-Selling Digital Album in China

In other news, EXO's new song, "Don't Fight the Feeling," was one of the K-pop songs played at the recent Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

In particular, EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling" was played during the women's volleyball match between South Korea and Turkey. The group's other hit songs "Love Shot" and "Power" were also played at that time.

Apart from these three tracks, more than five other EXO songs were played at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, such as "Transformer," "365," "Hurt," "Wolf," "Peterpan," "Tempo," "Love Me Right," and "Lucky. EXO Lay's "Sheep" and EXO Chen's "Years" were also used as background music.

In terms of sales, EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling" remains the best-selling Korean digital album in China this 2021.

As of Aug. 2, "Don't Fight the Feeling" has sold more than 480,000 digital copies in the country.

In the first week of sales (June 7 to 13), EXO's special album sold 408,000 copies, becoming the group's new best-selling digital album in China. "Don't Fight the Feeling" surpassed "OBSESSION," which sold 350,000 copies in the country.

EXO's sales in the United States also see good results. No to mention, the boy group is the second-best-selling SM artist in the U.S. this 2021 with regard to physical albums.

Based on the data collected by Reels Corporation from January to July in the US, EXO has sold a total of 15,513 copies.

When it comes to digital album sales in the US, EXO has recorded 2,629 copies.
