'BLACKPINK THE MOVIE' Attracts Hundreds of Thousands of Fans Worldwide on the First Day

"BLACKPINK THE MOVIE," which recently brought tears and joy to fans around the world, concluded with hundreds of thousands of views in one day alone.

On Aug. 9, Korean media outlet My Daily revealed the number of fans who tuned into "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" on Aug. 4, the day of its premiere on theaters in South Korea and more than 100 countries across the globe.

"BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" was presented by CGV in various formats such as ScreenX, 4DX, and 4DX Screen.

"BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" is part of BLACKPINK's "4+1 Project" for the celebration of their fifth debut anniversary. The film featured a "Memory Room," a "Beauty" section, and an "Unreleased Special Interview."

According to My Daily, BLACKPINK's documentary film, "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE," attracted more than 160,000 fans all over the world on the day of its release.

In South Korea, a "Cheering Stick Gift Screening" was held, which included one free ticket per seat, on Aug. 8 (BLACKPINK's debut date). The screening took place at CVG Yongsan, and the tickets were sold out in just 13 minutes after the ticket opening.

The audience, including BLINKs (fans of BLACKPINK), who visited the theater on that day, followed the movie theater policy wherein they waved their light sticks instead of cheering to avoid any potential spread of COVID-19.

On the same day, the Debut Event Screening" and "Fandom Support Screening" were also conducted. The tickets were sold out for the "Debut Event Screening" at four branches, including CGV Yeongduengpo and the "Fandom Support Screening" held at CGV Yongsan I- Park Mall and CGV Wangsimni.

While "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" has officially premiered, CGV has also prepared a special event for BLINKs in South Korea.

This event includes the "Light Stick Screening" (CGV Yeonnam, CGV Yeongdeungpo) and "Debut Screening Party" (National CGV with eight theaters), where fans will be able to watch "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" while holding the group's official light stick.

This special event will be operated for a limited time only. Details such as theaters and special screenings can be found on the CGV app and website.
