LeAnn Rimes Releases Final Songs On Curb Records: No More 'Tape Over My Mouth' With 'Spitfire'

LeAnn Rimes is ending her 17-year run with Curb Records with "Spitfire," an album with songs that explore her emotional journey during her affair and with Eddie Cibrian and her divorce from then-husband Dean Sheremet.

"I feel like I've had a piece of tape over my mouth for a while," says the 30-year-old country singer.

"I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic," admits Rimes, who began an extramarital affair with then-married Cibrian.

"I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record," said Rimes according to The Huffington Post.

"There were a lot of things I didn't even realize I was feeling ... I needed to go somewhere and really process all of that stuff."

"Spitfire," which releases today, holds 13 songs produced with talents like Jeff Beck, Rob Thomas, Alison Krauss, and Dan Tyminski, with Rimes co-writing nine tracks, reports Billboard.

"This album is a peek into my world; who I am, what I've gone through, what my emotions are. It's an intimate conversation between me and whoever's listening," says Rimes.

"I hope I'm saying things that are hard for others to express. It certainly took me a lot of work to get to this point. And it's still easier to sing these thoughts than it is to say them out loud. The intimacy in my music is just beginning."
