Just in time for the theatrical release of the action-comedy film Free Guy, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds gets to be interviewed by a special fan of his: Stray Kids member Bang Chan!
Stray Kids' Bang Chan Interviews Ryan Reynolds
It didn't take long before the 44-year-old movie star got to bond with Bang Chan very well, with the former acknowledging Stray Kidz and their work for NOEASY with much admiration.
"I think all the Stray Kidz are amazing," says Reynolds. "I've watched the NOEASY trailer, like, a whole bunch of time. You guys do this amazing thing where you kind of blend music with the action genre!"
Bang Chan also mentions how his fellow band members got excited when they received an autograph from the actor himself.
"Thank you so much for sending your autograph. It was, like, crazy. The members couldn't believe it, as well!"
The movie follows Ryan Reynolds as Guy, a bank worker who cyclically lives his whole life. As soon as he breaks free, he discovers that he is a background character of a brutally violent video game, much to the players' and the game developers' surprise. It's up to him to stop the game from going offline.
During the Q&A round, Reynolds expressed his enjoyment in the production of the film Free Guy to the point that it became his favorite film he has ever made thus far.
"I love the fact that, at one point, everybody on Earth feels like they're stuck in the background," quote Reynolds. "That was so interesting to me: that idea that you can kind of affect change, and you can unite with those around you and really become agents of change."
Reynolds hopes that the film inspires its audiences to find their inner heroes.
"The movie's sort of [about] not the anti-hero, but the unexpected hero. [W]e're all kinds of heroes and villains in our own stories that we tell ourselves every day. You know, it shows that there's sort of hope and infinite possibility for anyone in any place in life."
Before the interview's conclusion, Reynolds gave one last kudos to Bang Chan and the rest of his Stray Kidz members.
"I love you, guys! I'm such a huge fan. Not only do I love what you guys do. But I love how you do it because you do it with joy [and] with authenticity."
