It may be Friday the 13th, but this day is far from unlucky for the ReVeluv fandom as Red Velvet just released a teaser to the music video of their comeback single "Queendom."

Fans Excited Over Upcoming 'Queendom' MV Teaser

The K-Pop girl quintet takes the fan enthusiasm up the ante, as sources hinted at a "Queendom" music video teaser at 6 pm, KST. The clip's content remains unknown, but listeners' expectations focus on the song's dance-pop style, the girl group's new conceptual image, and energetic vocal harmonies. The anticipated clip is part of the promotional material for the much-awaited comeback album of the same name.

Red Velvet's 'Queendom' Album to be Released August 16

First announced in early June, "Queendom" marks Red Velvet's sixth mini-album and their first studio effort in nearly two years. For the past two months, the group filled its official social media accounts with colorful promotional photographs. This week, the photos posted thematically center on "Carnival." They feature the band members sporting chic outfits in green, outdoor setting with a bulldozer and party decors in the background.

They have also released several videos on their YouTube account to offer fans a taste of the album's new sound. Among them is titled "Mood Sampler."

Just recently, Red Velvet has also done a comeback party on MMTG, which also featured the girls playing fun games with the host and a sneak peek into the choreography of Queendom. Check that and their accompanying interview in these clips below.

The EP will feature six songs: the title track, "Pose," "Knock on Wood," "Better Be," "Pushin' N Pullin'," and "Again, Summer (Hello, Sunset)." Producers such as KENZIE and Moonshine are among the producers involved in the new project. Its expected release date is on August 16 at 6 pm, KST.

The members first started their music career in 2007 under SM Entertainment as one of the record label's SM Rookies. However, the group that would later become known as Red Velvet would not debut until 2014 with their appearance in the TV program Music Bank. From there, they would go on to become one of K-Pop's most prominent figures. Their releases have consistently reached the top three positions of the Gaon Album Chart. Four of their most popular songs (i.e., Russian Roulette, Red Flavor, Peek-a-Boo, and Bad Boy) have sold over 2.5 million digital downloads in South Korea alone.

Prior to "Queendom," the group has been on hiatus since 2019, after the release of The ReVe Festival series. Since then, the members have been venturing into other endeavors. For one, Yeri made her debut in acting last March in the one-episode show "Drama Stage 2021 - Mint Condition," where audiences gave positive reactions to her performance. Other members such as Joy and Wendy have also done solo works of their own.
