Daniel Radcliffe On Fatherhood: 'Harry Potter' Actor Has No Idea When He'll Have Baby Or With Whom, But Wants To Be 'Dad' Before 30

Daniel Radcliffe shows eagerness to become a father, although he claims he doesn’t know “when or who” he’ll have baby with.

In an interview with Time Out: London, the 23-year-old “Harry Potter” star said that he’d like to get started on raising a family before he turns 30.

"I like the idea of being a youngish parent so I've got energy to play football even though they'll be better than me by the time they're four," he said.

The young movie star plans on being a tough parent, one who “pushes their kids into thing”, but “not the film industry”, reports E.

When it comes to athletics and his future children, he quipped that he needs to “find a very tall wife if they’re going to be good at sports.” Radcliffe is 5-foot-5.

“You could be my size as a boxer; you’d just have to be a super featherweight or something.”

The “Kill Your Darlings” star said his desire to have children grew out of watching pals become parents and experience the new sense of purposes that comes with fatherhood.

"I've grown up around lots of people who were having kids when I knew them, because a lot of them were a lot older than me," Radcliffe said. "And I saw the wonderful change in them. I see that it gives you a sense of purpose that up till now I only really get from work. I want that [purpose]."

Aside from wanting to have a family, the actor who became famous for his role as “Harry Potter” said he’s not afraid of being part of another film franchise.

“Franchise mustn’t become a dirty word,” he explained. "If directors like J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon keep doing what they're doing, it won't be. I'd love to be part of one again. Maybe not leading it: a nice supporting role. In Star Wars? Yeah, that'd be awesome. That'd be crazy cool."
