Tim Tebow Retirement Rumors: Dad Says 'No Way' He's Done In NFL Despite ESPN Report

Tim Tebow or "Tebowmania" isn't quite done yet, says his dad.

After ESPN the Magazine reported some people in Tebow's camp said he might be done in the NFL after being cut by the Jets, his dad lashed out on Twitter, saying, "You're old enough to not believe all you hear."

ESPN The Magazine's David Fleming wrote in his column last week that, "Even now, after Tebow cleared waivers unclaimed and with members of his camp privately admitting that his NFL run is probably over, the football world remains as divided as ever over him."

There was a growing concern among Tebow fans--he has a rabid following in Gainesville after capturing two NCAA championships with the Gators--that Tebow might be out of the league permanently.

Fleming's column seemed to support that hypothesis as NFL teams have largely ignored him after he cleared waivers following his dismissal from the Jets earlier in the offseason.

The Tim Tebow rumors have still amped up the heat on his future, but Fleming's report combined with Tebow's lackluster showing in limited reps with the Jets last season seemed to point to a farewell from the former Heisman trophy winner from Florida.

But NFL.com reporter, Ian Rapoport, wanted to make sure about the Tebow rumors he was really done with the dream of being an everyday NFL starter, and he reached out to Tebow's dad.

Tebow's dad responded and his words stood in stark contrast to Fleming's report.

He told Rapoport, "You are old enough to not believe all you hear," which suggests Tebow is just bidding his time before making a return.

Just two years ago Tebow led an undermanned Denver Broncos team to the playoffs in front of a great defense and mediocre offense with noodle armed Tebow under center.

Tebow and his Broncos teammates then shocked the world when they upset the Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional playoff round with an overtime touchdown pass.

The Tebowmania of just two years ago hasn't subsided as much as it's remained at bay as Tebow looks for a new team to play for.

But if the prodigal son can return, why not the overtly religious Tebow?
