BTS to Give Speech at the UN General Assembly for the Third Time

BTS is scheduled to deliver a speech on behalf of the youth and future generation of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment." It will broadcast real time on the United Nations official YouTube channel, UN Web TV official site, and United Nations' official Twitter account.

This is third time BTS will speak at the United Nations General Assembly. At the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in 2018, at the UNICEF youth agenda "Generation Unlimited" presentation event, BTS leader RM expressed his personal experiences to the younger generation, saying, "Love yourself and your voice. Let's do it."

Last year in September, BTS was the special speaker at the high-level meeting of the UN Health and Security Friendship Group during the 75th UN General Assembly that was held online. RM addressed the future generations that struggle with the pandemic situation, saying that "Life will continue. Let's live together."

When the news about BTS' participation in the third UN General Assembly was published, not only fans all over the world but also the UN welcomed the septet warmly. The United Nations introduced BTS as "Korean Superstars, friends of the United Nations" on its official SNS, and they stated that the UN General Assembly event will have a performance from the K-pop group.

Aside from the UN, the Korean government, along with the Blue House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, unveiled BTS' participation in the UN General Assembly.

Since BTS will be participating as the "special presidential envoy for future generations and culture," they will also be representing young people living in this era during the UN General Assembly and they will speak up for the future generations.

BTS wanted to share their thoughts about overcoming the pandemic and communicating with the future generation, which are the UN General Assembly's main agenda. This will be done through an interview on ABC in the United States right after their speech at the UN General Assembly.
