SM Entertainment girl group aespa is set to make their comeback with their first mini-album Savage, set for an October 5 release.
Savage marks the first physical album release since aespa made its debut in November last year. So far, the four-piece group of Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning has released two music videos that have set various online records.
aespa debut single Black Mamba became the most viewed debut video by a K-Pop group with 21.4 million views in its first 24 hours, surpassing the previous record held by ITZY DALLA DALLA back in 2019.
Additionally, Black Mamba music video managed to cross the 100 million mark on YouTube on January 8, 2021, making another record as the fastest debut MV to reach 100 million views after 51 days and 12 hours.
The group's second single, Next Level, continues the narrative presented in Black Mamba, where the girls journey into the virtual universe of Kwangya together with their digital avatars.
Surpassing their previous time, Next Level music video reached 100 million views on Youtube in just 32 days and eight hours.
Through their unique concept of having real-world idols and their virtual counterparts, aespa has been called a "Metaverse Girl Group." The group has also been selected as ambassadors and endorsers for various industries including beauty, clothing, gaming, finance, and telecommunications.
With Savage, fans are looking forward to the next level that the SM Entertainment quartet will achieve.
