The female quartet will participate in Google's Dear Earth event, which will be held on YouTube originals on October 23 (US Time).
Dear Earth is a campaign designed with a theme about climate change. World leaders like Pope Francis, former US President Barack Obama, and Google Alphabet CEO Sundar will be participating in the event.
BLACKPINK is the only K-Pop artist to be named that will attend the event. They will be a special speaker during the Dear Earth event. BLACKPINK will give a meaningful message focused on improving awareness of climate change to fans from all over the world.
Furthermore, a splendid performance is also planned to be featured, it is expected to get a lot of attention from the viewers.

BLACKPINK Appointed as United Nations SDG Ambassadors
Last September 18, YG announced that BLACKPINK has been appointed as the UN SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals - ambassadors for the first time as an artist from Asia.
BLACKPINK said, "It's an honor to be part of the path toward a better world. With BLINKs, we want to inform the world of the importance of the SDGs and contribute to solving the problems we are facing."
About BLACKPINK's appointment, Guterres said, "The choices we make now can lead us to a future of perpetual crisis or a breakthrough to a greener and safer world. We will keep our promises and enable them to act."
The UN SDGs ambassadors are different heads of state, like prime ministers, queens or kings, and presidents. Also, global leaders like world-class artists are also part of UN SDGs ambassadors, like BLACKPINK.
In line with this, BLACKPINK will be starting to carry out various activities in order to spread the importance of gaining the United Nations SDGs and help boost participation.
With the latest appointment, BLACKPINK will begin their advocacy on climate change and every issue that our planet is facing today.
