As the finale for the currently popular Mnet survival show "Girls Planet 999" is drawing near, viewers are at the edge of their seats, anticipating which of the contestants will make it to the finals and have a chance to make their debut in a girl group.

However, as more contestants are getting eliminated from the show, more about the conditions surrounding "Girls Planet 999" are getting revealed.

Previously, eliminated Chinese contestant Liang Qiao revealed in a live broadcast the grueling living and filming conditions that they were subjected to while on the show.

This time, however, netizens have begun speculating that Mnet is once again manipulating the votes of "Girls Planet 999," so that more of the show's Korean contestants would make it into the finals, and eventually the debut group lineup.

In addition, Chinese contestant Ma Yu Ling, who was eliminated in the first elimination round, held a live broadcast where she revealed that the Korean staff of show treat Chinese contestants differently from the Korean and Japanese contestants.

According to the Twitter user who shared a translation of Ma Yu Ling's broadcast, the former contestant also revealed that Chinese contestants would sometimes gather together and just cry, but with their friendship, they were able to help each other and overcome it.

The Twitter user also said, "There was one time where the staff made MYL [Ma Yu Ling] so mad that she exploded (but they both apologised after). She said there are only two staff members who were particularly nice to the C group but only 2."

Other Twitter users who saw the tweet weren't surprised by Mnet's actions, and speculated that Mnet had evil-edited the Chinese contestants to make them look bad.

What is 'Girls Planet 999'?

"Girls Planet 999" is an Mnet survival-reality show, featuring a total of 99 contestants of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese descent that are split equally into three groups: K-Group, C-Group, and J-Group. The contestants compete in the hopes of making it to the final lineup of the nine-member debut group.

Unlike previous Mnet survival shows, "Girls Planet 999" allows viewers from outside of South Korea to participate in the voting.

The show is hosted by actor Yeo Jin Goo, and features Sunmi and Girls' Generation's Tiffany as the "K-Pop Masters."

Meanwhile, the show's finale will air on October 22 KST.
