BTS, BLACKPINK, and More Nominated for 2021 MTV EMAs
On October 20, the MTV EMAs unveiled their list of nominees. The event will be held on November 14 at Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary. The MTV EMAs will be broadcast live in 180 countries.
Bruce Gilmer, the president of Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events of ViacomCBS, said that the event would include incredible performances in celebration of all music fans and the artists they are fans of. The event is said to unite fans from every corner of the world as the biggest night in global music.

Several K-pop acts were nominated for the event. BTS specifically was nominated for Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Group, and Biggest Fans. As they are nominated for four categories, BTS is the K-pop artist with the most nominations.
Back in 2020, BTS won Best Song with Dynamite. They also won Best Group, Biggest Fans, and Best Virtual Live. That year, they were also nominated for Best Pop.

Other artists nominated for Best K-Pop include Lisa (BLACKPINK), MONSTA X, NCT 127, Rosé (BLACKPINK), and TWICE.
BLACKPINK was also nominated for Biggest Fans. In 2020, the group was nominated for Best Collaboration, Best Group, and Biggest Fans. Sadly, they did not win in any of the said categories.

Voting is now open at mtvema.com. They will be accepting votes until November 10 at 11:59 PM CET.

What is the MTV EMAs?
The MTV EMAs, also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards, is an award ceremony organized by Viacom International Media Networks to celebrate artists and music in pop culture. The awards ceremony was initially made as an alternative to the MTV Music Awards, which are hosted every year in the United States. The MTV EMAs are held every year in a different country in Europe.

The awards represent the international and continental music scenes. Since 2007, viewers have been able to vote for their favorite artists in all general categories via the MTV Website. The first MTV EMAs was held in 1994 in Berlin, Germany.
