On October 26, Kep1er Huening Bahiyyih, who's expected to debut in December, made it to news following the national petition against her.
Even before her debut, some people expressed they are not in favor of her debut alongside the other Kep1er members, and are currently demanding her expulsion from the lineup.
'Girls Planet 999' and Kep1er Huening Bahiyyih: Why is She Being Criticized?
On Oct. 22, Mnet's multinational girl group audition program "Girls Planet 999" wrapped up by introducing its upcoming girl group, Kep1er. Among the 99 initial candidates, only 9 trainers were selected to debut.
Most of the Top 9 members entered the lineup even at the start of the competition as they showcased their all-rounder skills. This includes Shen Xiao Ting, Ezaki Hikaru, Choi Yujin, Kim Dayeon, and Sakamoto Mashiro.
However, Huening Bahiyyih, who is said to have never stood out throughout the competition, garnered criticisms after she ended up No. 2.
Viewers claimed that the young idol never stood out in terms of skills or popularity during the broadcast, which quickly overheated and immediately became controversial.

National Petition Against Huening Bahiyyih: Here are the Reasons People Think She Shouldn't Debut
Viewers' frustration led to making a petition against the soon-to debut star. Over the Blue House website, the petition, titled "I petition for the eviction of ****, who became a member of a girl group through 'oppa' chances and illegal voting," was made.
In particular, people were quick to decode it is Huening Bahiyyih, not to mention that even before her "Girls Planet 999" stint, she was already popular among K-pop fans for being TXT Huening Kai's younger sister.
Fans then criticized Huening Bahiyyih for allegedly making it to the lineup due to the "halo" and "shadow" of her brother.
Along with this, the credibility of the global voting as criteria is being questioned because, during the show, some Southeast Asian fans were caught hoarding USIM chips and virtual numbers to vote for her.
The petition garnered the prior consent of more than 100 people and is under review whether to disclose it.
Nevertheless, Huening Bahiyyih's supporters believe that she deserves to debut, not because of her brother and strong fandom but due to her skills.
The Kep1er member's fans slammed the haters because such accusations are too heavy for a trainee born in 2004.
Others requested that correct criticism should be distinguished from criticism that has grown to a person, pointing out that it's not even Bahiyyih's fault her brother's fans voted for her as well.
