NCT Dream, aespa, ITZY and More to Perform at the 2021 World K-Pop Concert

On October 27 KST, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea International Cultural Exchange Agency announced that they would hold the "Korean Culture Festival - 2021 World K-Pop Concert" at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) located at Goyang in the Gyeonggi province, for two days from November 13 to 14 KST.

This special event was prepared to console K-Pop fans all around the world, and to deliver a new message of hope amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the event's worldview of "faniverse," which is a mix of fan and universe, the Korean Culture Festival will be held under the slogan "Light: Shine Together," and will contain the meaning of leading Korean culture as the artists and fans shine together.

For this year's Korean Culture Festival, the event will consists of two main parts: the K-Pop concert and a Korean culture fan fair (K-Culture Fan Fair).

Gracing the World K-Pop Concert with their performances are popular K-Pop groups, such as NCT Dream, aespa, SHINee's Key, ITZY, and PENTAGON.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the K-Pop stars will be performing at the event's second day on November 14 at 7pm KST

Aside from the five K-Pop stars mentioned, dance crew HOOK, who competed on the Mnet all-female dance survival program "Street Woman Fighter" and took the world by storm with their talent, will also be performing at the World K-Pop Concert for the opening stage.

At the end of the concert, composer Kim Hyung Seok, who is also the general director of the festivity, will be unveiling the event's theme song to fans.

Purple Kiss, Ciipher and More to Participate in 'K-Pop Stars Talk & Stage'

Director Kim Hyung Seok also shared that many fans had participated in the campaign song creation and fan art contests. "We want to create a culture where artists and fans harmonize and respect each other," Kim Hyung Seok said.

In addition to the K-Pop groups aforementioned above, there will also be performances from "The Painters," who will combine painting and media art; "Vibrance Crew" who will make use of LEDs; and the popular taekwondo performance team "K-Tigers."

K-Pop idols will also be participating in the "K-Pop Stars Talk & Stage" portion of the two-day event, with Ciipher and Woo!ah! appearing on November 13, and BAE173 and Purple Kiss on November 14.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the format of the performance and scale will depend on the situation with the quarantine guidelines.

"We plan to make the Korean Cultural Festival a large-scale music festival that represents Korea and is comparable to the world by gathering the results of this event and with opinions from experts," the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said.
