What is Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Presented by the U.S.-based department store chain Macy's, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual celebration held in New York City that is considered the largest parade in the world.
First taking place in 1924, Macy's parade is the second-oldest in the United States alongside America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit. The oldest parade in the world is Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade that is four years older than the two aforementioned parades.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is recognized for its stunning floats, massive character balloons, marching bands, performances, and a variety of forms of entertainment. Thousands of people participate in the event every year, and this 2021 marks the parade's 95th anniversary.
aespa to Perform at 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as the First K-pop Girl Group Ever
On Nov. 1, Macy's revealed the lineup of celebrities for this year's Thanksgiving Day Parade on their social media accounts, and one of them will be aespa.
aespa joins the lineup that includes Andy Grammer, Nelly, Darren Criss, Carrie Underwood, Tai Verdes, and more. SM Entertainment's new girl group will be on the float "Her Future is STEM-sational" by Olay.
The only other K-pop group to participate in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is NCT 127 in 2019. So, aespa becomes the second SM artist and first K-pop girl group in history to attend the event.

In their introduction for aespa, Macy's described the quartet as the "most daring K-pop rookie girl group consists of four members: Karina, Winter, Giselle, and NingNing."
They added, "They debuted with the sci-fi concept of each having an avatar living in a virtual world. The music video for the song 'Black Mamba' has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube."
Meanwhile, the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place from Central Park in Manhattan to Herald Square. It will be held on Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon local time. Also, it will be broadcast live on the local broadcasting network NBC (National Broadcasting Company).
aespa's "Next Level" Extends Its Record as the Longest-Charting Girl Group Song on MelOn
In other news, aespa's recent single "Next Level" steadily soars inside the Top 10 of MelOn Weekly Chart.

For the week of Oct. 25 to 31, "Next Level" claimed the No. 5 spot on MelOn, marking its 24th week within the Top 10. It remains the longest-running song by a girl group on MelOn Weekly Top 10 in history.
Apart from "Next Level," aespa's latest comeback song "Savage" also entered the latest MelOn Weekly Chart, securing the No. 2 spot. It has now stayed for four weeks inside the Top 10.
"Savage" and "Next Level" also made it to the latest MelOn Weekly Dance Chart, grabbing the Nos. 1 and 2 respectively. "Savage" has now spent four weeks in the first place.
Moreover, aespa's single album "Next Level" landed at No. 12 on the MelOn Weekly Album Chart, while "Savage" debuted at No. 3 on MelOn's monthly chart for October.
