It has been six years since 2NE1 last attended Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their last appearance at the awards ceremony is in 2015 when the girl group surprised the fans as CL initially took the stage as a soloist but then the members later joined her.
Following their MAMA 2015 performance, Minzy left the group in 2016, and 2NE1 eventually disbanded in 2017.
It's worth noting that 2NE1 always gives some of the outstanding performances at MAMA. However, YG Entertainment decided not to let its artists attend the event after the award show was embroiled in voting scandals.
But, now that all 2NE1 members have left YGE and signed with new companies, fans are hoping for a reunion at MAMA 2021.
