Stylist Kim Wook, the one who's responsible for SuperM and aespa's fashion, revealed the "easter eggs" he left when he worked on the female group's "Savage" teaser outfits. In an interview with W Korea, Kim Wook shared the symbolism of each member and conveyed the members' fashion preferences.
On November 8, the women's fashion and lifestyle magazine, W Korea, interviewed various contemporary Korean stylists that were responsible for the style of some of K-pop's biggest stars, BTS, EXO, NCT, BLACKPINK, aespa and more.
Among them, Kim Wook, the stylist of aespa, shared interesting stories and experiences while working with the "Rookie Monsters."
Stylist Kim Wook Reveals 'Easter Eggs' in aespa's 'Savage' Teaser Outfits
In the interview, Kim Wook, who recently worked for aespa's style on its comeback, "Savage," narrated how he pre-planned their fashion outfits to match its worldview.
In particular, the stylist showcased more diverse styles, and aespa's teaser outfits particularly gained attention for its unconventional yet detailed clothes. With the outfits, K-pop enthusiasts, particularly MYs, conveyed their theories about each members' role in its worldview, "KWANGYA."
As a response, Kim Wook confirmed that he left "hidden details in the look that was first released as a teaser for " Savage."
"Since I had to express the visuals standing on the battlefield, I used a calm color tone and organized the outfit to look neat but strong. While thinking about what to put in with points that were not childish, each person used a neo-symbol," Kim Wook said.
"Giselle (represents) "black hole," Winter is "Storm," Karina is "Spark," and Ningning is the "code." In particular, "Next level" print was used for Ningning's "green code." I didn't think much about it when I was working, but I thought it would be fun to take it if someone found it like an "Easter egg" later," the stylist added.

Stylist Kim Wook Shares More About aespa's Fashion Style and Reveals Members' Preferences
As the interview went on, Kim Wook also shared how he usually styled aespa.
The stylist stated that he usually focused on giving them nude-tone dresses to give a distinctive look. For its futuristic element, Kim would add styled boots, handpieces, and jewelry with futuristic and metallic things.
When asked, "How do you differentiate each style of Espa members?"
The stylist answered, "So far, I think there is more to show as a group than to distinguish styles for each member. The members focus on covering individual strengths and weaknesses, and as a group, the entire picture is trying to look solid and dense," Kim explained, emphasizing that aespa works as one instead of individually.
Meanwhile, Kim Wook has been working in the fashion industry for eight to nine years. In the K-pop scene, he is in charge of mostly Sm Entertainment artists, including SuperM, EXO, SHINee, Kai and Taemin, Key's solo, and Woodz, and he also recently took charge of aespa.
