One Song From TWICE's 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3' Album Failed to Pass KBS' Broadcast Regulation Review

As South Korea is known to be rather strict when it comes to the type of content they allow to be broadcasted, K-Pop groups and solo artists who plan to promote their music on programs must undergo a review with the broadcasting station and adhere to their broadcasting regulations.

In particular, one of South Korea's major broadcasting stations, KBS, have strict regulations that they for the songs they allow to be performed on their music program, "Music Bank."

For songs, reviews are based on the lyrics, and those that contain vulgar or curse words and phrases are deemed unfit for broadcast.

Recently, TWICE's upcoming third studio album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" underwent a broadcast regulation review with KBS.

During the review, 16 songs from their album have passed the review, while their song "ICON" failed to do so.

16 out of 17 songs from TWICE's 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3' passed KBS' broadcast regulation review

According to KBS, "ICON," whose lyrics were written by Melanie Fontana and GG Ramirez, did not pass the review as they concluded that the song's lyrics involved vulgar or curse words.

More notably, this is the first time for the nine-member girl group to have a song did not pass a broadcast regulation review, which is why "ICON" failing to pass the review came as a shock to many fans.

Meanwhile, this means that their 16 other songs in the album, "SCIENTIST," "Moonlight," "Cruel," "Real You," "F.I.L.A (Fall In Love Again)," "Last Waltz," "Espresso," "Rewind," "Cactus," "Push & Pull," "Hello," "1,3,2," "Candy," "The Feels," and R3HAB's remixed version of "SCIENTIST" can be performed on KBS' programs.

TWICE Drops Second Music Video Teaser for Title Track 'SCIENTIST'

On November 10, TWICE released the second teaser for the music video of "Formula of Love: O+T=<3"'s title track, "SCIENTIST."

In the 14-second teaser, the group gives fans a glimpse of the song's bouncy and energetic choreography, as well as the catchy melody that will surely become an addicting hit among listeners!

Meanwhile, "SCIENTIST" was written by JYP Entertainment's resident songwriter, Shim Eun Ji, and was produced and composed by British singer Anne-Marie, Melanie Fontana, Michel "Lindgren" Schulz, Tommy Brown, Steven Franks, and 72.

"Formula of Love: O+T=<3" is set to be released on major music platforms on November 12 at 2pm KST.
