ITZY Yuna, ENHYPEN Sunoo, IVE Yujin & More Who Will and Will Not Take the 2022 SAT

The 2022 SAT (University Scholastic Ability Test) in South Korea is fast approaching, and K-pop idols born in 2003 are eligible to participate. Among the celebrities, some will take the exam while others won't.

What is the University Scholastic Ability Test?

Also known as "Suneung," the University Scholastic Ability Test or SAT is a standardized test a student is required to take and pass to make it to the Universities in South Korea. In particular, this type of exam determines the university a student can enter and so it plays an important role in the country's education.

SAT takes place annually on the third Thursday of November, and this year, it is scheduled on Nov. 18. As it is an essential exam in a student's academic life, Korean students would spend their entire youth preparing for these examinations.

As it is an important day for Korean students, bus and subway service is increased to allow students to reach the testing sites more easily and on time. In some cases, students who are running late for the exams may be escorted by police officers to their testing site.

ITZY Yuna, ENHYPEN Sunoo, IVE Yujin & More Will Not Take the 2022 SAT

On Nov. 16, the Korean media outlet My Daily inquired about some K-pop idols who are eligible to take the 2022 SAT, and as a result of their survey, most of the celebrities won't participate in the upcoming examinations.

According to My Daily, ITZY Yuna and ENHYPEN Sunoo decided not to take the entrance exam on Nov. 18 this year.

Ahn Yujin, who will re-debut as a member of Starship Entertainment's new girl group IVE, will not sit for the 2022 SAT as well. The company officially announced the idol's decision of not taking the exam nor enrolling in any university in the meantime.

Starship Entertainment added that IVE Yujin decided to focus on her promotions, considering that her debut is forthcoming. Additionally, they said that the idol will reconsider enrolling in university at a later time when she can focus on her studies.

In addition to these three singers, the other K-pop idols who won't take part in 2022 SAT are STAYC Seeun, the EPEX members Keum Donghyun and MU, and BLITZERS Lutan. All of these artists will focus on their singing activities.

VERIVERY Kangmin, fromis_9 Baek Jiheon and More Will Participate in the 2022 SAT

On the contrary, the K-pop stars who will attend the upcoming entrance examinations include fromis_9 Baek Jiheon and VERYVERY Kangmin.

fromis_9 made their first comeback under Pledis Entertainment on Sept. 1 with their special single album "Talk & Talk," so member Baek Jiheon had enough time to prepare for 2022 SAT this November.

Kangmin also had plenty of time to study for the exams as VERYVERY returned to the K-pop scene in August with the new EP, "Series 'O' Round 2: Hole."

Aside from these two idols, GHOST9 Lee Woojin and Ciipher members Dohwan and Won will be seen at the 2022 SAT as well.
