SZA is receiving backlash from ARMYs for allegedly lying about her interaction with BTS at Harry Styles' concert in Los Angeles. Keep on reading for all the details.
SZA Slammed for Allegedly Lying About Interaction With BTS in Harry Styles Concert
On November 20, BTS were spotted having the time of their lives at Harry Styles' concert in Los Angeles. During the show, the seven-member boy band was seated next to American artists Lizzo and SZA. Following the event, SZA is under fire from ARMYs for a tweet concerning her interaction with the boy group. People claim she is lying about her interaction with the group.
The same night of the concert, SZA took to Twitter to respond to fans' tweets and questions. There, a fan asked about meeting BTS at the show. She replied, "I promise Lizzo tried to introduce us [but] they did not care; that is why we do not have a picture, babe." However, she adds in the end that they were "so nice and cute still."
Another fan had asked how she felt about meeting BTS, to which SZA replied, "I do not think they know who I was." Still, she mentioned that she thought they were nice.
This has caused an immense backlash against SZA from ARMYs. Many surfaced videos of BTS meeting SZA, showing that they had spoken and had a good time together. V, a member of BTS, was even videoed hugging SZA when they met.
ARMYs also recalled that J-Hope had played a SZA during a birthday live stream. At the time, SZA had even shared a clip of J-Hope listening to her music and even greeting him a happy birthday. People state that this is proof that J-Hope and potentially the other BTS boys knew who SZA was. They also claim that this is proof that SZA knows that BTS is aware of her existence.
BTS and SZA were soon the victims of racist attacks from both artists' fanbases. Following the backlash, SZA tweeted saying she is not upset over her interaction with BTS and that she loves them. She states that the boy group was still nice to her. SZA reiterates that Lizzo had tried introducing BTS to her, but it was dark and loud.
Lizzo quote-tweeted SZA's tweet and stated that she could confirm this happened. She said, "I introduced SZA, but it was so loud [and] I was scream-singing 'Kiss Me More' in V's ear."
