BLACKPINK Lisa has tested positive for COVID-19, YG Entertainment confirmed on Wednesday. The shocking news came just days after the co-member of Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo returned from her trip to the United States.
BLACKPINK Lisa Contracts Deadly Coronavirus Days After Returning To South Korea
In a released statement, YG Entertainment said:
"This is YG Entertainment. BLACKPINK's Lisa received test results that confirm her as positive for COVID-19 this afternoon on November 24.
The other 3 members of BLACKPINK have not yet been deemed as close contacts but as soon as Lisa received positive test results, they underwent the PCR test and are waiting for the results. The company will share the relevant news accurately and quickly and have been following the directions of the health authorities at a strict level.
In the future as well, we will not spare any expense to place the health of our artists and the staff around them first. We will quickly inform you again if there are changes to the situation."
While numerous BLINKS are concerned about Lisa's health, most of them are also worried about Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo as they just got reunited with the "LALISA" hitmaker in South Korea recently.
BLACKPINK Rosé Cancels Schedule After Lisa's Tested Positive For COVID-19
Other news claimed that BLACKPINK member Rosé was forced to cancel her scheduled activities after learning that Lisa contracted COVID-19. The "On the Ground" hitmaker reportedly postponed an imminent show at The Hyundai Seoul Mall and withdrew from a pop-up event for Tiffany&Co on November 25.
Star News, per Koreaboo, claimed that BLACKPINK Rosé had to cancel some of her forthcoming engagements after she came close contact with someone who tested positive for the COVID-19. It turned out that it was her co-member, Lisa, who contracted the fatal virus.
Health authorities in South Korea previously announced that non-vaccinated individuals would need to self-isolate for 10 days after being recognized as a close contact to someone who tested positive for the COVID-19. Vaccinated individuals, on the other hand, would no longer need to self-isolate should their PCR test results turn out to be negative.
At the moment, BLACKPINK members Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo are still waiting for their PCR test results.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
