BTS' 2020 Studio Album 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' Re-Enters Billboard 200
Big Hit Music's Grammy-nominated boy group, BTS, is currently holding their four-night offline concert, "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE," at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, United States, for the first time in two years.
The highly-awaited concert attracted attention all over the world, with fans coming in from different regions and countries to witness the seven members' first in-person performance.
At the concert, BTS performed numerous top hits from their previous albums, so it's no wonder that their album is seeing a "reverse run" on the charts.
On November 29 local time, Billboard announced through their official website that BTS' fourth studio album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," had re-entered Billboard's main album chart, Billboard 200, at No. 187 for the chart ending in the week of December 4.
Billboard 200 is a weekly chart that ranks the most popular albums by adding the total number of streams and digital music downloads to the cumulative sales of albums such as physical albums.
BTS released "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" back in February 2020 following their previous album "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," and debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 1 with over 422,000 equivalent albums sold in the first week, and went on to chart on Billboard 200 for 86 weeks.

In addition, according to the MRC Data and Billboard's 2020 annual report on the music market released earlier this year, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" had sold more than 646,000 physical album copies alone in the United States.
As for the Gaon Chart, they announced that the album had sold 4.38 million album copies last year, and had ranked first in domestic annual sales.
Meanwhile, the sudden re-entry of the album on Billboard 200 is due to BTS performing several songs from "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" during their concert, such as performing its title track "ON," "Boy With Luv," "Black Swan," and "We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal."
