2021 KBS Gayo Daejeon to be Experienced Face-To-Face Once Again

On December 2, it was revealed that the 2021 KBS Gayo Daejeon will be held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on December 17.

The KBS Gayo Daejeon last year was held online because of the COVID-19 infection.

This year, audiences are allowed to enter the festival once again. However, in accordance with the quarantine protocols, there will be limited audience capacity, and a thorough inspection will be made before the festival begins.

The KBS Gayo Daejeon festival is doing all-out preparations for the safety of the artists, staff, and, most importantly, the audiences.

The "Gayo Daejeon" is a year-end special musical program held by KBS during the end of December yearly. Formerly, it was held on December 30 every year from 1981 to 2011, then it was moved to every last Friday of December from 2012 to 2018. In 2019, it was held on December 27.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 last year, it has been opened relatively early. Last year, it aired on December 18, and this year it was confirmed as December 17.

In 2020, some members of the lineup suddenly backed out of the performance because of COVID-19 safety measures, and some had a problem with the pre-recording schedule. The 2020 Gayo Daejeon was held online with no live audiences in the venue.

Meanwhile, this year, in accordance with the implementation of gradual recovery from the aftermath of the pandemic, audiences can now experience the festival face-to-face. Although it will be difficult to cheer for the performing idols, the waving of light sticks is another way of showing support to them.
