Global girl group BLACKPINK once again proved their influence after being listed by Elle Korea as one of the artists that shone the most in the fashion world. Along with world-famous "Squid Game" stars Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon, the quartet was also named "Icon of the Year" in fashion.
On December 6, women's lifestyle magazine Elle Korea unveiled their 2021's "Year-End Summary Adieu," a list of the top designers and Korean artists who dominated the fashion industry this year.
BLACKPINK Named as 'Icon of the Year' by Elle Korea
In the article released by the Elle Korea on its official website, BLACKPINK was selected as one of the "Icon of the Year" in the fashion world. The outlet mentioned the quartet as one of the "most influential personalities that spread the Korean Wave."
"BLACKPINK, who drove crowds everywhere they went. It was a year of waiting for their overseas events every night that felt far away because of them," the magazine further said.
In particular, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé in September attended at the 2021's Paris Fashion Week. Jennie represented Chanel, Jisoo for Dior, and Rosé for Yves Saint Laurent.
Lisa also proved her power as a fashion icon after making her fashion runway debut at Celine Spring 2022 held on December 3.

Along with BLACKPINK, Netflix's hit series "Squid Game" stars Jung Ho Yeon and Lee Jung Jae were also named as this year's fashion icons, who recently became global ambassadors for Louis Vuitton and Gucci, respectively.
Moreover, veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung, who created her "second heyday" after winning "Best Supporting Actress" at the Academy Award for her movie "Minari," also attracted attention after shooting a shopping mall zig-zag commercial in her 70s.
BLACKPINK Updates in December: Lisa Recovers from COVID-19 + Jisoo's Upcoming Drama 'Snowdrop' Release
Meanwhile, Lisa who tested positive for COVID-19 on November 24 returned to her daily life after recovery on December 4. According to various Korean media outlets, the "LALISA" hitmaker was released from self-quarantine on Saturday and made a full recovery.
On the same day, the female idol updated fans through her Instagram and posted a new photo with a heart emoji as a caption.
On the other hand, while the other members also postponed their schedules as a precautionary measure despite testing negative, Jisoo prepares for the premiere of her debut drama as the main lead, "Snowdrop." The much-anticipated drama with actor Jung Hae In is set to premiere on December 18 through JTBC and Disney+.
