IVE Draws Mixed Opinions for Their 'ELEVEN' Encore Stage
Although they debuted at the end of the year, Starship Entertainment's latest rookie girl group, IVE is quickly becoming one of the most noticed rookie groups of 2021. After releasing their single "ELEVEN" on December 1, a series of posts and articles about IVE continued to trend among the top community forums in South Korea.

The girl group has achieved impressive achievements, proving their charms despite only being active for a week. By December 7, "ELEVEN" had surpassed 150,000 copies sold on Hanteo. In addition, the title song, also titled "HANTEO," continues to climb the charts, peaking at number eight on the MelOn chart.
On December 8, IVE bagged another achievement by being the fastest girl group to take home a first wi on a music show in K-pop history. "ELEVEN" won number one on "Show Champion," just seven days after IVE's debut. Previously, the record was held by ITZY with "DALLA DALLA," which they won nine days after their debut.

Many are happy to see IVE win their first music show win. When they were first revealed to the public, people were skeptical the girls would be popular, and many believed the group would be "Jang Wonyoung, Ahn Yujin and Friends." However, all members of IVE are receiving love from the public. People have fallen for the girl group's all-visual line-up and the individual charms of each member.
In addition to comments congratulating IVE for their achievement, some people criticized the girl group for the encore stage. As the members were too emotional, the girls could not concentrate on singing. Yujin, Wonyoung, Liz, Rei and Gaeul all shed tears, causing them to miss their part. However, Liz and Leeseo were praised for still singing out their parts well enough despite the emotional state the girls were in.
The member who received the most criticism is Jang Wonyoung. While many acknowledged her growth from her time in IZ*ONE, people commented that she still did not hit the notes she had to sing properly. However, some people defended her, saying she was crying at the time and was unable to deliver her parts properly due to her emotions.
As Jang Wonyoung has become the victim of "laziness" when dancing, many are attacking her more for her performance during IVE's encore stage.
