Weeekly Shin Ji Yoon Returns to Group Activities Following Hiatus for Health Issues

IST Entertainment Announces Weeekly Shin Ji Yoon's Return to Group Activities Following Hiatus

On December 14 KST, rookie girl group Weeekly's agency, IST Entertainment (formerly known as Play M Entertainment), announced that member Shin Ji Yoon, who took a hiatus for around four months to focus on her recovery and health, will be making a return to group activities after careful discussion with the idol, her family, specialists, and the agency.

Back in August of this year, it was announced that Shin Ji Yoon would not be participating in the group's comeback for their mini-album "Play Game: Holiday," and would instead, promote as a six-member group for the time being.

According to the agency, Shin Ji Yoon had to halt her activities due to intermittent symptoms of anxiety, and has since then been on hiatus to recover and receive professional treatment from a medical facility after having careful discussion with her family and a specialist regarding the matter.

Following the announcement of her return to group activities, Shin Ji Yoon took to the global fan community platform, Weverse, to share a message with fans, Daileee.

"During the break, I did my best to recover my health, and I also learned sports. I feel grateful to the members once again. My heart for Daileee grew even bigger," Shin Ji Yoon said as she expressed her gratitude to her Weeekly members and fans.

She continues, "Honestly, looking at myself and taking as much rest as I needed, I have the confidence that I will be able to do better in the future."

We would like to inform fans about Weekly Shin Ji Yoon's health status and future activities.

In August, we announced that Ji Yoon's activities will be temporarily suspended due to symptoms of psychological anxiety.

Since then, thanks to your warm support and consideration, Ji Yoonwas able to devote herself to the recovery of her health for about four months. First of all, we would like to bow our head in thanks to you.

Ji Yoon herself, her family, specialists, and the company have continued to put top priority on Ji Yoon's condition, and have been carefully examining whether she can return to activities. It was agreed that she is in a sufficient state to return to activities.

Accordingly, as of December 15th, Weeekly plans to resume activities with a full seven-member system.

Thank you once again for your encouragement to Ji Yoon. We ask for your continued interest in Weeekly in the future.
