BTS V Says He Was Called The 'Second Chris Martin' by Coldplay
Together with his co-members, BTS V is Vogue Korea's newest cover star. He spoke with the magazine about his career in an interview that was published last December 21. During the interview, he recalled the times that they were working with Coldplay on their collaboration song, "My Universe."
V stated that while recording the track, the rock band from Great Britain applauded his skills while they were in the studio. They even compared him to their lead singer Chris Martin.
The footage of the moment where Martin was impressed with his vocals did not appear in the video, then he says "Actually, when the vocal guide demo came out in English, I sang it from beginning to end. The Coldplay members complimented me saying that I was like the second Chris Martin. I have listened to that recording a lot since!"

Moreover, V also took a moment to reflect on how he fulfilled his childhood dream of being a part of BTS. "Since I was in elementary school, I dreamed of becoming a singer, but nobody took me seriously. Everyone just said, 'Get real.' But BTS made my dream come true," he shared.
"Some say that you should keep your first love as a hobby, and not turn it into your job. But I disagree because I do what I love professionally. When I feel it's not good enough, I'm able to devote more time to practice, and this helps me develop and improve. Also, the fact that people seem to like what I do makes it very satisfying and meaningful to me."
Aside from that, V also talked about his pet dog, Yeontan, during the interview. He gave a heart-melting wish for the dog and made the fans love him more because of this.
BTS Set To Take Long Vacation, To Come Back in 2022 With Fresh Ideas
BTS had a successful and busy year - they broke several Guinness World Records, earned a Grammy nomination, and recorded three No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 - because of this, they will be taking a long vacation in the coming months so that they could spend more time with their families during the Christmas and New Year holidays and work on their fresh concepts.
"This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families," their management agency, Big Hit, declared in an official statement.
"We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest."
