Kep1er Kim Dayeon, Kim Chae Hyun and Seo Young Eun to Gift Fans with a 'This Christmas (Taeyeon)' Cover
On Dec. 23, Mu:Ply YouTube channel announced that Kep1er Seo Young Eun, Kim Chae Hyun and Kim Dayeon will release a surprise carol today.
The carol will be a cover of Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "This Christmas". Mu:Ply stated that the Kep1er members will reinterpret the track in a way that their unique vocals will create a perfect harmony that fans will absolutely love.

Kep1er's "This Christmas" cover will serve not only as a Christmas gift for fans but also as their way to repay the fans who have been waiting for their debut.
Kep1er, which was formed through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," was supposed to make their highly-anticipated debut on Dec. 14. However, their debut was postponed after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The project girl group is now set to debut on Jan. 3, 2022.

Meanwhile, "This Christmas" is the title track from Girls' Generation Taeyeon's 2017 solo winter album "This Christmas - Winter Is Coming." The song was well-received in South Korea, taking No. 1 on all major real-time charts one day after its release.
"This Christmas" cover by Kep1er Kim Chae Hyun, Seo Young Eun and Kim Dayeon is set for release on Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. KST on Mu:Ply's YouTube channel.

About Kep1er Kim Dayeon, Kim Chae Hyun and Seo Young Eun
Kep1er Kim Chae Hyun is a trainee under WAKEONE Entertainment. She previously trained at SM Entertainment for four years before she underwent self-training for two years. She is known to be the "Girls Planet 999" contestant who finished in first place after gaining over 1.08 million votes from global fans.
During her time on Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," she was part of the team that covered aespa's "Black Mamba," TWICE's "Yes or Yes" (Team 1), IU's "My Sea" and Unicorn's "Utopia." Since the start of the show, Kim Chae Hyun has always been included in the top 9, proving her potential to be part of the debut lineup.

Kep1er Kim Dayeon is a trainee under Jellyfish Entertainment. Before participating in "Girls Planet 999," she was a contestant in "Produce 48," which formed IZ*ONE. While she failed to be part of the debut lineup for IZ*ONE, she managed to be part of Kep1er after finishing in fourth place with over 885,000 votes.
During her time on "Girls Planet 999," Kim Dayeon performed K/DA's "Pop/Stars," BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" (Team 2), BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez's "Ice Cream" and Medusa's "Snake."
Finally, Seo Young Eun is a trainee under Biscuit Entertainment. She ranked fifth in the final episode of "Girls Planet 999" with over 781,000 votes, which earned her a spot in the debut lineup for Kep1er.
While competing in "Girls Planet 999," Kep1er Seo Young Eun performed NCT 127's "Kick It," BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" (Team 1), 2PM's "My House" and 7 LOVE Minutes' "U+Me=LOVE."
