CL Reveals Being Multi-Cultural Has Inspired Her to Become Who She is Today
On December 23, fashion magazine Vogue recently shared a new video on their official Youtube channel, which featured former 2NE1 leader and rapper, CL.
During the video, CL participated in the magazine's segment "7 Days, 7 Look," which showcases the outfits the "Lover Like Me" singer wears every day for a week.
In particular, CL shows off a Cucu Bebe ensemble, featuring a green bomber jacket, baggy distressed jeans, and her white Nike Air Force 1.
As she explains her outfit to the viewers, CL begins to reminisce about the time she wore this kind of outfit when she was a lot younger.
"This actually goes way back. This is how I used to dress when I was 12 [years old] when I started dancing," CL said. She added that the outfit was the "same fit, but just upgraded."
She then began explaining that although she was born in South Korea, she had lived in three different countries as she grew up: South Korea, Japan, and France.

In Japan, CL had spent her childhood living in Tokyo and Tsukuba. At 13 years old, she had moved to Paris, France alone, where she studied for two years before auditioning for YG Entertainment and eventually moving back to South Korea to become a trainee.
How Being Multi-Cultured Shows in CL's Work
Talking about growing up, CL shares that she is multi-cultured, and while it does have its ups and downs, she became more inspired because of it.
"You know, being multi-cultured, it has its ups and downs. But it definitely inspired me and opened my eyes to accept and be inspired by a lot of things," CL said.
She then gave instances where her inspirations took form, such as being able to hear it in her music and how she dresses as she loves to mix things up where it is vintage and new.
As for her music, he loves to mix EDM and hip-hop, as it is the type of music that she grew up listening to.

"And I also sing in Korean and English because that's both me!" CL added.
This isn't the first time CL shares she is multi-cultured. In the past, she had mentioned how she is not 100 percent Korean, as she is very mixed and very open.
