Is Teen Top Going to Disband? Members Niel and Changjo to Leave TOP Media in January 2022
On Dec. 28, Teen Top’s management company TOP Media released a notice through the boy group’s social media accounts to announce the result of the deliberation they had with Niel and Changjo. The agency shared that Niel’s and Changjo’s exclusive contracts with them will end on Jan. 10, 2022.
And so, the label has had a long and careful discussion with the two Teen Top members to discuss the renewal of their contracts. They then came to the final decision of not renewing their contracts.

Fortunately, Changjo and Niel will continue to be part of the boy group due to the deep affection and trust the members have with one another. This means Teen Top will not disband.
In addition to this, Teen Top Niel will release a solo track in January as his last project as an artist under TOP Media. Further details about his music release will be revealed at a later date.
Along with the notice, the company also shared a letter that Changjo and Niel wrote to the fans. In his letter, Niel said that Teen Top will never disband. “We talked with each member, and we all had the same desire, so Teen Top will stay together. So, don’t worry too much.”

Meanwhile, Changjo shared to the fans that he has learned a lot in the past 12 years while under TOP Media. He continued that fans can expect to see the full form of Teen Top after the members’ military service, but the members will showcase their individual image first.
Teen Top debuted in July 2010 with their first single album “Come into the World.” They received a lot of love with their hit songs “Miss Right” and “No more perfume on you.” Initially a six-member group, L.Joe left the band in 2017 as he want to pursue a solo career. He eventually left TOP Media after the agency put some limitations on his solo activities.
Teen Top’s Last Musical Activities before the Members’ Military Enlistment
In August 2020, Teen Top members started to enlist in the military one after another, starting with Chunji, followed by Ricky and C.A.P.

Prior to this, the quintet made a comeback in June 2019 with their ninth EP “DEAR. N9NE,” which is composed of six songs including the title track “Run Away.” The album sold almost 16,000 copies in the first month of release on the Gaon Chart.
In July 2020, Teen Top released a 2020 version of “To You” in celebration of their tenth anniversary in the K-pop industry. One month later, they held their first online concert “Teen Top 10 Live,” which is their last concert as a full group in a while as members will begin their military service.
