MBC is about to wrap up another year with their annual year-end music festival, MBC Gayo Daejejeon. This year's edition will feature the usual performances of artists as well as some special stages. While waiting for the big event later tonight, Dec. 31, let's have a recap of last year's song festival.
2020 MBC Gayo Daejejeon Recap: Here are the Performances and Special Stages You Might Have Missed
On Dec. 31, 2020 at 9 p.m. KST, the MBC Song Festival was held with the theme "The Moment" and was made available to watch on Viki. Last year's hosts were Girls' Generation YoonA, Kim Seon Ho and Jang Sung Kyu.

The lineup of performing artists included several girl groups such as aespa, (G)I-DLE, IZ*ONE, ITZY, Oh My Girl, TWICE, MAMAMOO, LOONA, and the Refund Sisters. There were also performances of several boy groups like GOT7, Stray Kids, The Boyz, NCT, and MONSTA X.

The 2020 MBC Gayo Daejejeon also featured lots of solo stages by Jessi, Lim Young Woong, Kim Shin Young, WINNER Seungyoon, Uhm Jung Hwa, Paul Kim, and Norazo. Additionally, J.Y. Park x Rain, Girls' Generation Yoona x Kim Seon Ho, and Henry x Song Ga In gave collaboration stages each.
Further, members from different idol groups partnered up for special stages.
Special Stages during the 2020 MBC Song Festival
1. ITZY Lia, Stray Kids Han and The Boyz Juyeon teamed up to cover "Play That Summer", which was originally sung by SSAK3.
2. Stray Kids Felix, The Boyz Younghoon and (G)I-DLE Yuqi collaborated to sing "In Summer", which was also sang by SSAK3.
3. IZ*ONE Jang Wonyoung, The Boyz Hyunjae and Stray Kids Hyunjin also partnered up to perform "Beach Again," another song originally released by SSAK3.

4. ITZY Yeji, Ryujin x (G)I-DLE Soojin, Soyeon x IZ*ONE Minju, Yuri teamed up to cover "Reflection" by American girl group Fifth Harmony.
5. MONSTA X Joohoney x The Boyz x LOONA x Uhm Jung Hwa performed "D.I.S.C.O" together.
6. Girls' Generation Yoona and Kim Seon Ho took the stage together to sing "Perhaps Love", the OST for the popular K-drama Princess Hours. J & Howl originally sang the track.
7. Norazo x Kim Shin Young sang a remix version of "Gimme Gimme x Bread"
8. Oh My Girl Hyojung, IZ*ONE Chaewon and (G)I-DLE Minnie covered Baek Yerin's "Across the Universe"
9. Paul Kim x WINNER Kang Seungyoon performed Paul Kim's "Me After You"
10. MAMAMOO Hwasa & Uhm Jung Hwa sang "Hop In"
11. NCT Ten x MONSTA X Shownu gave a dance performance of "Nobody Else, Echo, POPSTAR" by DJ Khaled
12. MONSTA X collaborated with CRAVITY and TAGO to perform "Fantasia"
13. J.Y. Park x Rain sang "I Have a Girlfriend", "Switch to Me", and the latter's "How to Avoid the Sun"
14. Henry x Song Gain performed "Music Is My Life" originally sang by Lim Jeong Hee
