BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' Debuts on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart

BTS V's "Christmas Tree" is now the first Korean OST in the history of K-pop to debut on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The song debuted at No. 79.

Moreover, this is BTS V's first solo entry on the Billboard chart. He also accomplished this without any promotions and he faced strenuous competition from other mainstream Christmas songs that flooded the US chart.

Aside from that, he is the third soloist from BTS to enter the Hot 100 chart, following J-Hope and Suga.

BTS V's "Christmas Tree" became the No. 1 best-selling song in Billboard's US Digital Song Sales Chart. It sold over 23,500 copies on its debut week.

One of the songwriters of "Christmas Tree," Kyunghee Kim, celebrated the news and he expressed his delight by posting V's latest achievements on the charts on his Instagram account.

BTS V Makes More Records With 'Christmas Tree'

Taehyung proved that he is the best Korean solo artist by setting the record to enter UK's "Official Singles Sales" and "Official Singles Download" charts on December 31. This is the best record for a Korean solo artist of all time.

The Official Chart is a popular British pop chart published by BBC Radio. It is recognized as one of the two biggest charts in the pop market, together with the US Billboard chart.

It is unusual for a Korean song to be on the UK official chart during the year-end and Christmas season, often taken over by traditional Christmas carols, and this result is a special record of V's worldwide influence and popularity.

"Sausage Rolls For Everyone," which topped the charts, is a Christmas charity single project song with a special collaboration between RadBaby, Ed Sheeran, and Elton John. The proceeds of this project will be donated to "The Trussell Trust," a British non-profit organization that supports the food bank.

This is the reason why the 2nd place rank of "Christmas Tree'' is not disappointing. Aside from that, V also ranked 24th on the "Official Independent Singles Chart," showing his powerful influence.

In addition, it topped the UK iTunes music video chart and has not missed the No. 1 spot since its release from December 24 to January 1.

In 2021, another OST "Sweet Night" entered the Top 10 of the "Official Single Sales Chart." It set a record for the first Korean OST to enter the chart.
