He and fellow trainee Jinyoung subsequently debuted as the duo JJ Project in the same year with the single album "Bounce." He used the stage name JB so as not to be confused with singer Yim Jaebeom.
In January 2014, Jay B alongside Jinyoung re-debuted in JYPE's seven-member boy group named GOT7. The members later left the agency after seven years and signed with different agencies.
In particular, GOT7 Jay B joined Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC and changed JB to his current stage name. He made his solo debut in May 2021 with his first single "Switch It Up" featuring rapper Sokodomo.
