Four BTS Songs Claims a Spot in the Top 10 Best-Selling Songs in the United States
On January 6 local time, MRC Data announced the year-end report that takes a look at the most successful albums and songs in 2021, and this year, global superstars BTS dominates the report.
According to MRC Data, the seven-member boy group has taken over four of the Top 10 spots of the best-selling songs in the US this year.
The group's September 2021 release and hit collaboration track with British rock band Coldplay, "My Universe," had come out as the No. 7 best-selling song in the US, while their 2020 summer single "Dynamite" landed at No. 6.
Despite being released back in 2020, "Dynamite" still managed to make waves in 2021, and still sold more than a hundred thousand copies to earn them a spot as one of the best-selling songs of the year.
In fact, "Dynamite" was the No. 1 best-selling song in the US back in 2020.
Their July 2021 release, "Permission to Dance," ranked at No. 3 and had also sold thousands of copy each week.
And snagging the top spot as the No. 1 best-selling song the US is their second English-language summer track "Butter," which was released back in May 2021.

BTS 'Butter' is the Only Song to Sell Over a Million Copies in the United States
Named as Billboard's Song of the Summer, "Butter" had sold a whopping 1.889 million copies in the United States, and is the only song in the country to hit a million in sales figure in organic purchases, with No. 2's country track "Fancy Like" by Walker Hayes being 1,000 copies shy away from hitting a million as well.
With that, this marks BTS' second year in the row to overtake the US with their smash hit to become the best-selling song in the market, and has once again proved their global impact and popularity.
So far, "Butter" has had a remarkably successful year, with the song debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 back in June, and went on to chart weekly for 10 non-consecutive weeks.
"Butter" also dominated Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart for 18 weeks, tying with their "Dynamite" record to sit atop on the list.
The song first climbed to the top after selling over 242,800 copies in its first week. In the following eight weeks, "Butter" would sell at least 100,000 copies.
Meanwhile, BTS had cancelled their flight to the US after the 64th Grammy Awards was postponed, where the group was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with "Butter."
