As the new year began, the members of Lovelyz also announced the start of their second act of entertainment activities as solo artists. Keep reading to the current status of Baby Soul, Jiae, Jisoo, Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Sujeong, and Yein.
In particular, Lovelyz announced their departure from Woollim Entertainment and the group, four days after their 7th debut anniversary on Nov. 12, 2021.
On Nov. 16 last year, it was revealed that the female group's contract with the company expired, and it was a unanimous decision to leave Woollim excluding Baby Soul (hereinafter Lee Su Jeong).
Unfortunately, the team became one of those groups who didn't overcome the infamous "Seven-Year Curse."
The announcement of disbandment truly brought sadness in the K-pop industry as Lovelyz left numerous hit tracks that were loved by fans, such as "Ah-Choo," "Obliviate," "Twinkle," "Now, We," "Destiny" and more.
However, the Lovelyz members attested to their fans to continue meeting them despite being apart, and one by one announced the beginning of their personal activities.
What Happened to Lovelyz? Here are the Current Status and Activities of Members in 2022:
1. Lee Mijoo

Starting with Mijoo, the idol turned entertainer rose into popularity as one of "Yoo Jaesuk-line" even before their disbandment.
As a result, she signed with Antenna, a company founded by Yoo Hee Yeol, home to Jukjae and Sam Kim.
It is expected that Mijoo will show her skills in various aspects including acting, music and entertainment under her new agency.
2. Yoo Jiae
Jiae was one of the earliest among the members to announce her contract with a new agency. Following contract expiration, she delivered the news of her signing an exclusive contract with YG K+ on November 18 last year. From being an idol, Jiae will challenge herself as a rookie actor.
3. Seo Jisoo
On January 4, Jisoo found her new nest which is Mystic Story. Through the official statement of the agency, it was hinted at fans that Jisoo will focus on her acting career.
4. Jeong Yein
In December last year, Yein was reportedly in discussion with Sublime Artist Agency, home to GOT7 Youngjae and Jackson, former GFriend Yerin, EXID Hani and more.
Although it has not been confirmed yet. It is also known that she is putting weight on her acting activities.
5. Kei
Kei, who transitioned from being a K-pop idol to a musical actress, reportedly signed with PalmTree Island, the agency led by former TVXQ and JYJ Junsu.
On January 5, Kei also joined the encore performance of the musical, "Excalibur," starring Junsu, Lee Ji Hoon, and more.
6. Lee Su Jeong (Baby Soul)
Baby Soul, the only Lovelyz member left in Woollim Entertainment, changed her name to Lee Su Jeong, heralding a fresh start as a solo singer.
Music fans' expectation is already high following her incredible performance as a solo artist with her debut single, "Stranger" released in 2011.
7. Ryu Sujeong
In December 2021, Ryu Sujeong was reportedly discussed with Flex M, a music label under Kakao Entertainment, but it was confirmed that it failed. Currently, the female singer is yet to announce her new agency.
8. Jin
Similar to Sujeong, Jin is also looking for a new agency. While waiting for her huge opportunity, Jin opened her personal YouTube channel, "Myungnee" on Nov. 19 last year, where she communicate with fans and hints at her personal activities.
