Here's Why People are Worried About EVERYGLOW Yiren's Hiatus
Following the announcement, many EVERGLOW supporters took to social media to discuss Yiren's hiatus. While Yuehua Entertainment states she is returning to China for studies and spending time with her family, people believe she is being brought back to China following her New Year's greetings scandal.

On January 2, Yiren was wrapped in controversy after giving a Chinese-style greeting for New Years' during a fan sign. Meanwhile, the Korean members gave a big bow to fans, which is typical in Korean traditions and customs. While Chinese internet users praised Yiren for her actions, Korean internet users were unhappy with her unwillingness to do the Korean greeting despite promoting in South Korea.

People believe this is one step closer to Yiren leaving the group for good. It was pointed out that several stars, such as Zhou Jieqiong (former PRISTIN member under the stage name Kyulkyung) and the Chinese members of WJSN, returned to China mid-contract and pursued a career in their home country instead of remaining in South Korea.
People pointed out that since Yuehua Entertainment is a Chinese agency, the company may have been planning to have her return to China from the start after gaining a fanbase in K-pop. However, they had to speed up the process following the idol's latest controversy.
