Former T-ara Soyeon's Dating History: Here's Why Her 6-Year Relationship with First-Gen Idol Oh Jonghyuk Ended

When Did Former T-ara Soyeon and Oh Jonghyuk Start Dating?

Way back in September 2013, rumors were circulating online that T-ara member Soyeon (26) and Click B member Jonghyuk (30) are a couple but as neither side denied nor confirmed it, they remained as rumors until the local media outlet Sports Seoul (now called The Fact) released an exclusive report.

The report consisted of photos of Soyeon and Oh Jonghyuk celebrating their 1000th day as a couple along with their friends Jang Suwon (of J-Walk) at a coffee shop in Gangnam on Sept. 23, 2013.

The article also stated that the couple started as a fan-and-star relationship, with former T-ara Soyeon being a fan of Click B since her youth. It was also mentioned that the two were together on two same events that were separately held in November and December 2010.

Reportedly, on Dec. 28, two days after the second event (MBC's "Bouquet") took place, Soyeon and Oh Jonghyuk officially became a couple. Even while the male idol was completing his military service, he and the female singer remained strong as a couple.

Further, Sports Seoul said that DSP Media confirmed T-ara member Soyeon and Click B member Jonghyuk were indeed dating since Dec. 28, 2010. The agency continued that Jonghyuk, who is nice and has good manners, fell for Soyeon's adorable charms.

Soyeon's label Core Contents Media confirmed the dating news as well. The company said that the parents and families of the celebrities are aware of their relationship.

With the surfacing of this exclusive report from Sports Seoul, the other media outlets contacted the stars' respective agencies and Xsportsnews managed to get a response from Core Contents Media, which candidly verified the news.

Since the dating news of Soyeon and Oh Jonghyuk was only reported and confirmed in late 2013, this means they were able to keep their relationship a secret for three years.

Since then, another three years have passed and T-ara Soyeon and Click B Jonghyuk remained strong until July 2016, when reports about them breaking up were released.

Why Did Former T-ara Soyeon and Former Click B Jonghyuk Break Up?

According to reports, former T-ara member Soyeon and Click B member Jonghyuk decided to break up due to the girl group's busy schedule overseas.

Following the news, the celebrity couple's respective companies released an official statement. DSP Media said confirmed the breakup of Soyeon and Oh Jonghyuk, however, they weren't able to give the exact timing or reason as it is the artists' personal business.

Meanwhile, T-ara's label MBK Entertainment (formerly called Core Contents Media) stated that the two "naturally" drifted apart as they were focusing on their separate activities in the entertainment industry. But, despite this, it is said that they decided to maintain a good relationship and keep supporting one another.

On April 12, 2021, Click B Jonghyuk tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend, who he described to be a friend who trusts him and makes him comfortable.
