Former DAY6 Jae Apologizes for Scandal Concerning Jamie Park on Stream
On January 9, former DAY6 member Jae took to his Twitch account to hold a live stream. The stream, titled "Super short stream," features Jae apologizing for his recent controversy and acknowledging his wrongdoings to viewers in real-time.
He tells viewers that he "really f*cked up," acknowledging that he made a mistake. He states that he did not understand the gravity of the situation. Jae reveals that he texted Jamie Park the night the situation happened and that he only saw her response the following day, and that was when he realized his mistake.
Jae states that he is aware his fans are disappointed by his actions and repeatedly acknowledges that he messed up.
Jae informs viewers that he did call Jamie Park, stating that was the first thing he did. He adds that when he heard Jamie Park's response to the situation, he was "stunlocked," and that it acted as a wake-up call for him. When a viewer told that it was not something to joke about, Jae revealed that Jamie Park had told him the same thing during their call.
Jae stated that he would be speaking to Jamie Park again later in the week when the latter has more time. He says that he apologized during their initial call and that he is continuously trying to apologize to Jamie Park.
When told not to do it again, Jae responds that he won't and will try his best not to make this mistake again. Jae adds that he chose to live stream because he has a responsibility to his viewers to live stream, but he will be taking time off until he can talk to Jamie Park.
He ends the stream by apologizing to the people who felt offended by his comments. He states that he always offends people, but he really feels like he messed up this time and that it was worse because he hurt a friend. Finally, Jae informs viewers that he will learn and reflect to "figure himself out."
Former DAY6 Jae Under Fire for Misogynistic Comment Against Jamie Park
During a live stream on January 8, 2021, Jae was caught on fire for an offensive comment against his former labelmate, colleague and friend, Jamie Park. A viewer had asked during a Livestream if they were going to collaborate, which led Jae to say, "Now that I am not in K-pop anymore, I can say this — Why is Jamie trying to be a thot?" He then burst into laughter.
"Thot" is a term used to describe women who have many casual sexual encounters and flings and is often used to demean and insult women.
During the stream, he tells viewers, "Tell her, tell her, I said it!" He then tells Jamie Park not to sue him, saying he has no money. Finally, he tries to redeem himself by praising Jamie's music and their friendship.

However, the joke was not taken well by viewers or Jamie Park. In a now-deleted tweet, Jamie Park asks, "A what?" She then shared another tweet, saying, "Just remember how much I cared for you before you were even in your last company and how many times I checked if you were alright. I prayed for your questions like they were mine. It is really sad."
She then tweets, saying that it is sad that women have to be subject to men's humor to "appease incels on the internet."
Following the backlash, Jae issued an apology to his Twitter, stating he confused thot for baddie.
