TWICE Emerges as the Top-Selling K-Pop Girl Group in the Past Decade on Gaon Chart

TWICE Sold the Most Albums by a K-Pop Girl Group in the Past 10 Years on Gaon Chart

According to the cumulative data released by Gaon Chart on January 10, which consists of album sales from both K-Pop groups and solo artists for the past 10 years, JYP Entertainment's top girl group TWICE recorded the highest album sales figure among female artists with all of their albums released so far combined.

Gaon Chart's data on cumulative album sales that spans from January 2011 to November 2021, reveals that TWICE has so far accumulated 7.3 million album copies in total since their debut back in October 2015.

Not only that, but the chart also reveals that TWICE ranked within the Top 10 at No. 5 as the artist with the most album sales in the past decade.

In particular, the nine-member girl group is the only female K-Pop act to make it within the Top 10, with the rest being dominated by male artists.

TWICE had achieved more than 1.27 million album copies sold last year with just two of their albums. Their third full-length album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3," originally released in November 2021, had surpassed 710,000 album copies sold according to Gaon Chart's annual album chart for 2021.

"Formula of Love: O+T=<3" had also ranked at No. 19 in terms of sales, making it the highest among female artists.

In addition, TWICE's tenth mini-album "Taste of Love," which was released back in June 2021, had ranked at No. 24 after selling more than 550,000 album copies since its release.

TWICE's 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3' Maintains Spot on Billboard 200

Meanwhile, TWICE is also continuing their popularity over on Billboard charts. On January 11 local time, Billboard announced that "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" maintained its spot on Billboard 200 at No. 148 for the week of January 15, maintaining their streak on the charts for their eighth week in a row.

Over on the World Albums chart, TWICE ranked at No. 3, while the group ranked at No. 15 and No. 19 on the Top Current Album Sales and Top Album Sales charts, respectively.

TWICE's first English-language single "The Feels" also stayed on Billboard charts for their fourteenth week in a row, ranking at No. 64 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and at No. 94 on Billboard's Global 200.

In other news, TWICE is currently holding their fourth world tour, "TWICE 4TH World Tour 'III'," with their next stop being in Los Angeles on February 15 to 16.
